Kevin I. Fleming, Chairman

Mr. Kevin I. Fleming is the Founder and Chairman of Grupo Mariana S.A. and is responsible for directing investment activity in Central America. As such, Mr. Fleming is responsible for the identification, evaluation, and consummation all new investments in the region which include evaluating acquisition and joint venture opportunities. In addition, Mr. Fleming directs all aspects of operations, policies, and initiatives for Grupo Mariana S.A. and related companies.

Before forming Grupo Mariana S.A., Mr. Fleming spent 13 years with General Paint Corp, one of the largest paint manufacturing companies on the West Coast of Canada. He served in a variety of management and sales positions and his responsibilities included developing relationships and promoting company products to small and large paint contractors, architects, engineers, and small businesses.

Mr. Fleming is a past Director on the Edmonton Apartment Association, a leading property management organization with a specific focus of lobbying government for support within the Real Estate Industry and supporting owners of real estate holdings within the city of Edmonton.

During a successful twelve year career in the construction industry, Mr. Fleming decided to leave to pursue more pioneering opportunities in the emerging real estate markets of Central America. He founded a company called Grupo Mariana S.A., to acquire prime real estate in Nicaragua.

Fleming met his wife, Maria Rueda, in 2003 when she was studying in Vancouver, Canada. Maria was born in Nicaragua and when she spoke of her homeland with Fleming, she would emphasize "real estate." Consequently, Fleming began to investigate Nicaragua and was struck by both the beauty of the country and the opportunities it afforded.

Upon settling in Nicaragua in 2005, Kevin and Maria soon found themselves the owners of a growing real estate portfolio – Isla Mariana Beach Resort (Leon), Seaside Mariana Spa & Golf Resort (San Rafael Del Sur), and Casa Mariana Hotel (Granada), all named after Maria. They also found themselves blessed with the addition of a son, Kevin Alexander Jr., born in 2005 and a second son born in December 2007. Additionally, Mr. Fleming has spoken at numerous international conferences about real estate development and investments in Nicaragua.

Mr. Fleming holds a honors degree in Business Administration from the British Columbia Institute of Technology in British Columbia, Canada and is an active member of the International Who’s Who Society.
